Cold Emailing Other Associates as an Associate

I'm an associate at a private credit fund covering healthcare and I thought it would be nice to get to know other associates/VPs covering the sector in PE and credit. Some of this is done naturally working on deals but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to cold email people. Has anyone received a cold email for a phone call/coffee chat (that are not looking for jobs)? Would you think it is weird if you received one?

“Julius was extremely helpful in breaking down the accounting concepts, especially allowing me the opportunity to walk through a question step by step on how the three financial statements are impacted across income, cash flow and balance sheet along with figuring out the mental math for it all.
