Connection Not Responding

Hey Monkeys,

I've been in touch with a senior professional at a firm that I'm interested in (in this industry) and even spoke with them and developed a good rapport over a few months. However, after agreeing on another meeting around a certain time, I made the mistake of contacting my connection a couple of weeks later than I had implied but made sure to apologize and explain briefly why I reached out late (legit reason) in my correspondence. Unfortunately this was a few months ago and I still haven't gotten a response even after sending a few nice follow ups. I know the firm has gotten busy with deals and some strategic changes, so could it be likely that they just got busy and might still consider me as a potential candidate for the firm when the time comes? Or is it more likely that I pissed them off and won't hear back again?

Anyway my interview process would be in the spring if I was going to interview there, so I'm not super pressed for time. I really enjoyed speaking to my connection at the firm and could see myself realistically working there, so I found it a bit disheartening that they haven't been in touch.

Should I give up on this person or keep shooting my shot? Anything I can or should do to get them back on the phone? How long should I wait before reaching out to others at the same firm if they don't respond? I also don't want to annoy them to the point where they'll blacklist me, as I'd like to stay in touch with this connection for the future.

Thanks for everything Monkeys!
