Credit or LevFin if looking to break into PE?

I was wondering if working at a credit shop or LevFin at an IB is more preferable if I’m looking to break into PE eventually. I know it seems like the obvious answer is to take a buyside offer since there is better WLB and buyside is the goal (in this case a credit shop), but I’m worried this will lock me into credit while working in will LevFin give me the potential to break into PE.
