Crossover Funds -- Investing into Private and Public Businesses
Recently, I have become very interested in crossover funds, particularly ones where investors at the firm get to look at private and public equity investments (I know lots of firms have their investors specialize in either public or private investing, however, to my knowledge there are some funds where investors are generalists). I'm wondering if anyone has a comprehensive list of these types of funds?
Some crossover funds that come to mind right off the top of my head are Altimeter, Whale Rock Capital Management, Dragoneer, Kultura Capital Management, SurgoCap Partners, Durable Capital Partners (Henry Ellenbogen's fund), Coatue Management, and Sequoia Heritage (Sequoia's wealth management fund that manages some outside capital).
Let me know if I am missing anything! Just wanted to start a comprehensive thread on this topic to discuss these types of funds.
They are all, buy and large, absolute clowns that rode the ZIRP wave and are now comprehensively and throughly fucked
