Data Room Options
Hey guys, I wanted to know your views about virtual data room providers. At the moment, my firm has 2 data rooms:
1. Intralinks data room for LPs that have signed an NDA. Very good UI with personalization included. LP's prefer this above all else, but it can be very pricey.
2. Box.com data room as our non-NDA version. Works well and is cheap, most of the information isn't as sensitive. Our growing problem is that anyone you invite to look at the data room can also see other viewers, many LPs don't want that.
Do you guys have any other service providers or ways to navigate around that. I appreciate it. Thanks!
Donnelly/DFIN, Firmex and Venue are all decently cheap options that could work for what you need. Sharepoint can be used as well for free but might have the same issues as box. Datasite is a good higher-end option if you need competing quotes against Intralinks.
Check out DealVDR. Inexpensive and imo better than Intralinks

I love SmartRoom as a cheap option. It gets the job done and it’s often the lowest bid.
For the high end I prefer Datasite over Intralinks. Cleaner UI and more advanced features from my experience. For cheaper options, look at Firmex and DFIN.
