Difference in long-term pay of real estate PE vs. normal PE?

Going into a PE internship this summer where they do the typical local business buyout structure.

In my opinion, real estate PE seems more interesting as a long-term career path. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on the differences between long term pay of a real estate PE firm vs. a normal PE firm, especially carried interest and bonuses at the VP/MD level. This is assuming they're both MM shops.
