Director of LTD - came up in background check

Hi monkeys,

Recently got an email from HR regarding a directorship I have in place currently which manages a side-hustle I had going on over the last few years. My previous firm didn't know / care about it and of course my quality of work was unaffected by this. What are the likely outcomes given this discovery - I am due to start the new role in a couple of weeks time.

Thanks!

What is the issue? Tell them what it is and that it's a side business done outside of work hours. You should generally disclose these things upfront... but can note you did it during your previous role too with no impact on your work there.

If your firm considers this related to their work or otherwise not acceptable to do for whatever reason, your options are to find a new role or drop the side hustle. This isn't too complicated of a situation
