Do LBO modeling tests give a template?

Currently prepping for PE recruiting and working my way thru PF modeling tests. Obviously it is significantly easier to do these tests with the template they provide and I was wondering what percentage of PE firms give a template when conducting this part of the interview. For those that don’t, what is a typical timeframe to complete a model from scratch?

Just keep repping. Knowing how to build it cold is really the only way to know that you will be able to handle any template.

Templates change. Model test expectations change. If you know how to build it ground up you are in a much better place to deal with any model test.
