Equity Research to PE possible?
Currently in equity research covering financials (banks + consumer finance + fintech) but was wondering whether I could move to a PE fund. Just took CFA Level III as well.

Certainly possible, as I did exactly that, albeit with a stop in between. It may be more difficult to make the direct transition without any deal experience. I moved from ER to a mezz/growth capital shop, then to PE. I started ER in a niche industry group and have stayed within that industry, which I believe also helped. The transition probably would've been more difficult trying to move into a more generalist role. Finished my CFA right before PE interviews as well
