European IB/PE - Restructuring (recruitment process Q)

I am at a European semi-target MSc in Finance and I wanted to know how the restructuring landscape of Europe looks like (who are the leading firms, how recruitment works, how to prepare for interviews, and preferred backgrounds).

I don't have prior IB/PE experience, but I worked as a lawyer in Banking/Finance teams at reputable law firms covering a bit of restructurings and liquidations, thus my interest in distressed debt/bankruptcy.
