Know someone in the group and asked: Lot of vps that did banking and some associates, comp comparable to banking (second year analysts can clear 220k pre tax), some exits to traditional PE but most stay on as associate

 

Secondaries & Co-Investments

EDIT: also secondaries are usually bidding for a stake in a fund / can also cherry pick certain companies

But the biggest part of secondaries apparently is single asset continuation vehicles so much more fun because exposed to only one company

Co investments are minority stakes in private companies where u invest alongside another private equity firm

 

No like XIG PE does primaries secondaries co investments but the large amount of money the group makes comes from secondaries co investments so usually ppl in the group who stay usually specialize in one of the two or both
