Outside of the "top guy", is there any benefit of this for the rest of the PE organization (junior Partners, MDs, VP/Principals)? Seems like its all bad for them.
Basically is the richest guy in the firm climbing up the ladder and pulling it up behind him.
Have folks ever seen the team thats actually doing the work "revolt" when head partner sells GP stake?

Pretty sure PE is the kind of space where people vote with their feet, they don't revolt. In any case, the sale of a GP stake has no impact on carry pool size or allocation, which is what non-Partners mostly care about.
