How to break into aquaculture PE?

Currently a rising senior at a target majoring in economics who is disillusioned with my current internship field (equity research) and want to explore the aquaculture private equity industry. I've always been fascinated by fish farming (love reading about marine biology) and agriculture in general but was drawn into traditional finance because of parental pressures. However, I am interested in potentially pivoting to aquaculture PE after graduation. How would I go about doing this? I don't see a lot of full-time job postings at aquaculture PE funds and the full-timers there seem to have a lot of industry-specific experience.

You just need to get out there and start talking to people at these funds. Before you do that learn all about the companies they invest in and the history of the industry.

Learn how to talk the industry lingo and know what people in the industry know then talk to the people in the industry and get advice on what your options are. As a student people are receptive to you asking for advice seeking coffee chats or I guess Zoom calls these days.

Thanks! As a student with no prior PE/IB internships how easy do you think it would be to attract interest from recruiters at these firms?
