How to leverage a PE internship to pivot to IB

Hi everyone,

I’m currently an undergrad with 1 boutique IB experience. I have secured a Private Equity internship for fall next year at a well-known global firm. I think my end goal has always been BB IB, but I didn't manage to land anything this cycle.

I’d really appreciate advice on:

  1. How to maximize learning and build IB-relevant technical skills during the internship.
  2. What kind of projects or exposure I should actively seek out to make the experience more transferable to IB.
  3. How to position this PE internship on my CV and in interviews to demonstrate strong alignment with investment banking.
  4. Any tips on transitioning from PE to IB

Thanks in advance!
