Hey, looking for some info about on-cycle recruiting from a MM bank (RBC/Jeff/DB/UBS). Targeting strong UMM funds and want to know if people think a lateral would be advantageous, or if these placements are attainable - any insight is helpful.
Doable but likely won’t be as easy. Good deal experience, school, GPA, test scores, etc. will generally help. Yale guy with a 3.9 from Jefferies Healthcare will tend to have better opps than a OSU guy with 3.5 from RBC FIG (just using random examples).

Makes sense. Would you say trying to recruit out of MM and not being successful would hurt chances down the road after a lateral?
Getting a good UMM offer is "hard" even for a GS TMT analyst from harvard - simply not a ton of spots to go around.
