How underpaid is this in PE?
A friend at a LMM PE firm was offered $100k base + $50k bonus as a 2nd year associate. This seems well below market right even for a sub 300M fund?

To be clear, sub $300m fund or AUM? If that's the total AUM then I would say that's on the lower end but not completely unreasonable for a LMM fund. If it's just 1 of multiple funds and they have say $500m+ AUM then yes, would say it's quite low.
Yeah I would think that’s very underpaid. Starting as a first year associate at a LMM shop with $110k salary + $100k bonus. Fund is bigger but still sub $500m.
tbh that's still more than I'm getting at my $2bn fund LOL
What $2bn fund paying you less than $150k as an associate?? Bro get the f out
lmao I feel underpaid at a sub 1bn fund and im slated to make like 265k lol. You getting hosed bruh.
You are getting bent over the barrel with no lube for $150k at a $1b fund.
