Infra PE Meet & Greets

Got invited to a meet and greet for an Infra PE shop by a HH. Currently a 1st year analyst on an infra debt (think project finance), but only 3 weeks into the role. Definitely interested in this company, however, the session is in the late afternoon (in-person) and I would need to leave work early. Moreover, the HH said this doesn’t mean they are starting recruiting soon.

Is this even necessary to attend if I am interested in this specific role? If so, how should I best prepare for an informational session like this?

If I had a dollar for every time someone said this isn’t an indication of recruiting kicking off early and yet it did….

Everyone will be in your shoes RE: 3 weeks into the new job so wouldn’t let that hold you back. Even if recruiting does kick of later, they might use the info session attendees to filter down to interested candidates.
