Infrastructure PE Resources/Info

Hey recently found myself really interested in the Infrastructure PE space, I've found it quite mentally stimulating as such I want to fan that flame. That being said, I am at a shortage of resources and information. Thus, I wanted to know if you guys had any resources and information you recommend I scythe through. Below are a list of topics I am interested in finding information on.

  1. Major Players in Infra PE: Beyond the Infrastructure arms of MegaFunds, who are the notable players in the space? Any recommendations on firms, funds, or even niche specialists worth exploring?

  2. IB Group Placement: Which investment banking groups have proven to be the strongest feeders into Infra PE roles? M&A has historically been a default path, but does Power, Utilities, and Infrastructure (PUI) stand out here, or are other coverage teams also gaining traction?

  3. Operational vs. Ownership: Are there Infra PE firms that go beyond asset ownership to actively operate projects (e.g., airports, renewable platforms)? I'd be curious to hear more about that distinction.

  4. Types of Infrastructure Funds: What are the key fund strategies within Infrastructure PE? For instance, core, core-plus, value-add, opportunistic—how do these strategies differ in risk/return profiles?

  5. Compensation Structure: How does Infra PE compensation stack up against Corporate or Real Estate PE? Specifically, do these funds offer carry and co-invest opportunities, and is there any notable variance in comp structure?

  6. Academic Papers and Literature: Are academic or industry white papers a worthwhile investment of time when it comes to understanding trends, deal structures, or strategies in the space? Any standout publications?

Of course, this is by no means exhaustive, but I hope it provides a solid starting point for my learning. If there's anything else I may be missing please by all means let me know. Any insights, recommended resources, or even first-hand perspectives would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and guidance.

Is it just me or is infra PE gaining a lot of traction on this site lately lol, seems like firms are also ramping up analyst programs

Really? Would you mind pointing me in the direction of these funds with analyst programs?

Hey definitely interested. I was thinking of getting the course myself as well. Would you say it's been worth the investment? And do you currently work in Infra PE?

Hi mate, I'm working on REPE but trying to pivot to Infra PE. I couldn't say that it's the best resource in the market because I did not take the other ones, but it's pretty solid (it covers acquisitions and developments of several assets, from simple to complex models) and (relatively) cheap. A game-changer feature of the course is that it teaches how to approach debt sculpting/sizing (a key topic on PF) under different covenant situations (w/ DSCR, LLCR, +1 debt tranches, etc). 100% recommended (not sponsored).
