Interviewed Head of PE, Snr. MDs at a UMM firm - waiting for feedback still?

I interviewed at a pretty recognizable UMM firm (think Centerbridge, Advent, Oaktree, Cerberus). I had one interview with MD (team I'd be joining) about 2 weeks ago. I then got invited back to meet 2 Snr. MDs one of which is the head of PE, and 2 other MDs. I felt like all the convos went well - I asked for feedback after the interviews and it was largely positive (one guy was yawning a lot during the call which was sorta rude but even he said we should do more calls). At some point, they told me the process is lengthy and they do a bunch of due diligence. This was on Monday. I'm still awaiting feedback from the team / search firm.

I've asked the search firm twice and they have said they have not heard feedback yet but 4 days feels like a lot for the search firm not to have heard any feedback.

At this point I just want to reach out to the firm itself given they've replied to my thank you emails as well (3 for 5).

Am I on hold? Or are they interviewing other candidates? Did they get busy? Or otherwise, is the process just super disorganized? You guys are on the other so you'd know best. Let me know.

Rule of thumb if you are using a HH you will never have to hunt them down if there is good news.

Just deal directly with team.

Headhunters are waste of time.

If you think you’re dinged, what do you have to lose by going direct?

Echoing this, not sure what reaching out will do other than annoying them? How lengthy has the process been so far? I was in an off-cycle process last year and sometimes it took 2-3 weeks to hear back lol I don’t think 4 days is that bad. Maybe after 1.5-2 weeks reach out and ask directly (at that point you have nothing to lose)

Did you end up following up? I'm in basically the exact same boat right now...
