I recently heard that PE was chasing law firms and this really piqued my interest. My family owns a law firm and I’ve always wanted to buy it, but as a non lawyer in PE, I could not. Today PE companies can by law firms via MSO structures though - I recently spoke with Holland & Knight who currently has 40 active PE law firm MSO deals in progress for those who don’t believe me.
I want to get connected with folks in this space - I’m thinking of rolling up $1-2m EBIDTA firms in a specific niche (just bc that’s where my current experience lies) and I figure many of the latter PE funds will be exit opportunities.
