Is PE better for flexibility/WLB
Is it marginally better than banking or is there still a large face time cultureuntil 12am. Not asking about MF, but more UMM/MM

Career Resources
Facetime culture is still existent in PE, albeit a bit better than banking. Your superiors in PE will typically be a touch older than that of banking, and will likely have a wife / children / other responsibilities, so they will leave the office at some point, as opposed to that banking VP with no gf / bf who stays there for all hours of the night.
Same rule applies wherein if your manager is there you should still be there. Most common to see folks like partners (if they're in that day) to start to roll out of the office at 5:30 / 6 pm, VP / Principals follow at 6:30 / 7 pm and so on.
If you're on a live deal, not unusual for the whole deal team to be in the office for more effective collaboration and probably frowned upon to leave if your VP / Principal is voluntarily staying.
All this being said, face time truly does still exist as every job is sales of yourself or your skillset you offer - your job is to make yourself look good, and it doesn't hurt to be the first one in and the last one out. Just depends on the firm how much.
don't do PE if WLB is a priority - dependent on your firm / your banking experience it can be worse
If I’ve worked 95+ hours for over a year, it wouldn’t get better on the other side?
No it is not. You can probably go home at 9PM vs. 12AM but your level of responsibility is higher. If there's a live deal going on you will work past midnight very regularly.
