Have met a few of them - seem very down to earth, great people.
anyone else have info?
Reputation wide, probably one of the best ever pure software-focused growth equity ever, period
You’ll really learn how to do traditional enterprise software growth equity, which tbh can be boring for a lot of people. Also locations kinda eh
Reputation is as the “nice guys” of growth equity. Sharp investors but value-oriented. Locations are odd but anecdotally have heard WLB is pretty good as a result. Strong reputation in the B2B software growth equity space. Comp I think can vary depending on individual performance
Any update on their process?
Who covers them?
Ratio
Honestly I took an offer at another GE firm but tbh I am kicking myself for not applying here. They have crazy returns and good brand name reputation at H/S/W. I have a friend who had an offer there and the comp was actually a bit higher than my other friends working as analysts in GE/PE... downside is Baltimore and DC. San Diego is pretty though.
Can you provide insight into comp numbers?
do people at GE just source all day? manage and keep up with current list of pipeline companies, find new companies through conference lists, tech crunch, pitchbook, inbound, etc? what is the split of sourcing vs diligence work? 70/30?
I am a sophomore and currently have an offer with them. Trying to figure out if this or IB is the best move for me long-term. I would love to PM you for any advice you may have.
Sorry to comment on an old thread but does anyone have any data points on comp?
One of my friends was an analyst there - I think standard is ~$170k for first year (base and bonus) and then added bonuses for sourcing which can vary widely. Different people will end up with different comp but I think that’s “mid bucket”
That’s very solid. If anyone has any datapoints on associates would be helpful
I know they're currently going through a rough patch in their portfolio, got a few stinkers from overpaying during height of tech mania and are looking to offload them.
Any updated view on the associate program here? I’m a first year analyst interested in growth and have heard great things from seniors in my group about JMI.
What do hours look like? Comp? Why are they in such random cities? Is living in SD / DC fun in your 20s?
