Have the lateral associate / sr associate market rebounded yet? Heard murmurs of dealflow rebound in Q1-25 of next year so curious if hiring needs are ticking up accordingly

Outreach has been pretty flat for me
Still dead. Given timing of holidays, I wouldn't be surprised if whatever demand firms might have are gonna be pushed to Jan, and that's being hopeful.

Deal flow was supposed to pick up every quarter since Q2 2023. No one knows
Still not great. All the people I know at funds have said recruiting for mid and entry-level roles has been pushed forward into 1Q25.
For 2Q/3Q25 start?

Curious question for the group: How many of you are currently unemployed and looking for roles? How have you been spending your time? Any tips on strategy or outreach for picking up new processes?
Spend 2 hours a day on linkedin reaching out to people in more niche funds and strategies (not the super megas / well known on this forum) asking to chat, then I hit the gym and have been trying to pick up part time work. out of 20 messages I maybe get 1 response, which is always "not hiring rn but will lyk." Life is pretty chill...until I run out of money...
same boat for lateraling in banking. recruiting was somewhat live during Sept-Oct but then starting to drop off now for holidays, hopefully new year kicks off
It's been one quarter away now, for 6 quarters.
