Leveraged Buyouts Best Practices - GAAP vs Proforma Question
I'm performing my first leverage buy out model for a Public Company (To give background: I work in the middle market for a PE firm and have only performed LBOs for private companies) and a bit confused when it comes to using GAAP vs Proforma for this opportunity.
I believe it is best practice to use proforma, as it reflects what the management believes to be relevant accounting numbers. What I am confused about is, if I use
