Macabus LBO tutorial

I have seen from other posts that the Macabus LBO tutorial is a great way to become more familiar with LBO modeling. However, I see several different tutorials on the website. Can someone link below the tutorial that they recommend would be helpful for PE recruiting? Not looking for the bare bones version.

And if you have recommend resources for learning modeling for private equity recruitment, please let me know! Coming from a coverage group that does very little modeling.

I would do old tests from shops that your IB group should have on the drive somewhere, ask an older analyst.

The mac tutorials are good but overkill. Get the job first then learn those tutorials to get good.

The full complexity one is pretty overkill for a PE use case and moreover is more focused on lev fin type considerations like all the debt returns. Cool but not the right allocation of your time if you are pe recruiting. For PE, I would focus more on fundamentals.

Construct an S&U that makes sense - know what TL pricing for a typical biz is these days (s500 is safe)
Sensible revenue projections - have a reason for the projection whether it is price / volume or just “growing it slightly higher than market growth rate because we will take share because of x,y,z”
Sensible margin projection - why operating leverage? Why not?
Explain that the model you have constructed is a WYNTB for a 3x/25%. This is what you think the story will be with this kind of investment in this sort of business, but you aren’t an oracle. What is clear from the analysis is that the key drivers are x,y,z and the win condition is a,b,c

Thank you, appreciate the guidance! Would you say the WSO courses are useful for PE, or are they too basic? I think the old tests are helpful once I make sure I have the technical knowledge down and am looking for a course that is sufficient for PE modeling and not for IB summer interview prep
