Media and Entertainment Industry Insights

First year analyst in M&A at a BB in NY.

I'm passionate about media and entertainment, but was unsure if it was the right group to join during placement given its a weaker group at my bank. Starting to consider buy side opportunities, but after a few informal coffee chats with some funds in the city, realizing that I need to enhance my understanding of the space rather than just being a consumer of it. Haven't been on any deals in the space, so definitely behind the curve on industry jargon, trends, etc. Also unable to ask anyone in our CME group as I don't know anyone in the group.

Does anyone have any resources or insights that could be helpful to learn more about CME as a whole? Any white papers? Key elements to recent investment theses? Trying to research on my own but given there's so many different avenues, difficult to pin where I should be starting.

Anything of the sorts would be great. Thanks in advance.
