Mezzanine Pay

Hey Everyone,

So I’m wrapping up my SA role at a top MM bank and have come to the conclusion that banking is not what I want to do full time. I’ve started networking with multiple mezz/pe shops as I’ve found what they do to be pretty interesting and was wondering if anyone had any insights as to what pay would be like?

These are firms that do a mix of mezz lending and equity investments, often pairing the two together. Pretty small shops (100-200m funds) in tier 2-3 cities. I know pay is most likely a big discount to what I’d make coming back to banking but interested to hear if anyone has any insight to what I could expect coming out of undergrad and as you go up the ladder.

Thanks!
