MF PE Signing Bonus?

Hey all,

Signed an on-cycle offer for a MF last year, with no communication of a signing bonus. Talking to friends the last few months who signed other offers and got signing bonuses got me thinking: which MFs do and don't give signing bonuses? Is it always communicated / paid up-front?

First, congrats, second, make sure you still have the offer, third, be happy you still have it …in this market..

Not to deprive you of the economics… just rubbing salt on many ppl’s wounds here worrying about sign on bonus..

Appreciate the perspective and you make a good point. I'm not worrying or losing any sleep over a bonus (was just curious about other experiences), but didn't realize the effect it may have on other people reading this. Good reminder to check our privilege once in a while...

For what it's worth, more than happy to give back with advice or help anyone go through the process. Not super active on WSO so not sure if someone can DM me while I'm anonymous but happy to help however.

I mainly used Peak Frameworks for interview prep (modeling, case studies, etc.) and a ton of my own industry research. That included things like making a fund list with AUMs, sector focus, recent deals, etc., as well as doing a lot of research into the sector I was interested in. My recommendation would be to spend a lot of time figuring out what you actually want, whether that's by narrowing down your fund size, etc. or a specific sector. After that, it's just about reps and making sure you can sound well-versed and have the technical ability to do well in interviews (Peak Frameworks is legendary for this).
