MM PE Book recommendations

Starting a job in MM PE soon and looking to do some reading to prepare for the job. I've read a number of threads on the topic and am deciding between the following two books:

Mergers and Acquisitions Playbook: Lessons from the Middle-Market Trenches Value-creation in Middle Market Private Equity by Lanier

I've read the standard PE novels (Barbarians at the Gate, Kings of Capital) as well as some other PE books (PE and VC case book by Lerner, Lessons from Private Equity, Venture Deals, etc.). Looking for something informative on the MM PE process and investment criteria that's not too dry.
