Need Advice Please - PE Lateral Process

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to gain some insight on the process of lateraling from one PE shop to another. Currently, I am working at a MM PE shop on the East Coast and am looking to make the transition back to California. To give you some insight on my situation, I have interned at this company for one full year, while completing my Masters in Accounting program at a top ten MSA program. Prior to the program, I worked for a year as a Credit Analyst in Seattle. I have been working full-time at this firm for six months so far and while I do know it is still early on in the process, I would appreciate any advice on lateraling. Some of the things that I have seen around WSO are potentially moving into IB, HF, VC, or obviously to another PE firm. My first choice would be PE, however, I am keeping my options open. Thanks in advance for all of the help! If there is anything anyone else needs, I am more than willing to help out or tell my story as well.

-Slim
