NYU Stern PE Recruiting

I asked this question in a earlier hedge fund forum but I wanted to ask abt private equity as well. I know Stern is a t5 business school and if I grind can I get PE looks out of ug? Also I wanna say sorry if i come across as a dumb young kid who's acting cocky and stuff. I'm just really interested in working my ass off to get into buysie out of college and I wanna know how Stern can help. Also I am in the new BTE program if that changes anything.

Stern places a ton into banking and that leads to some buyside exits. It’s not as strong as Wharton, but it’ll get you places. NYU and Wharton are by far most represented at Evercore (at least for my graduation year).

Went to Stern, now analyst at a BB. I'd say there's like 5-10 kids a year that go straight to PE out of undergrad. BX used to hire 1-3 for REPE / TacOpps / Infra and I'm pretty sure they'd give interviews for PE too, MIRA, Centerbridge I think. Warburg came to campus but I don't know if they hired anyone. Think KKR had analyst opening on handshake but again unsure if they hired anyone.

Then there's obviously always the one-off MM firms, GS MBD, etc.

If you want to do PE out of undergrad it's doable if you're a superstar, but it'll be a lot easier through a bank. The Stern -> IB -> PE path is *very* well trodden.
