Off-Cycle 2026 Megathread

Well... with on-cycle 2026 being a complete shit show, a lot of firms sitting out, and a lot of people seemingly unprepared, traveling, or just not getting calls from headhunters, I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread for any updates and news sourrounding off-cycle.

Have been hearing from all the HHs I’ve met with that there would be some scattered activity in the weeks after on cycle and then more movement in Q1 ‘25. But I also don’t think they expected to kick off before training started. So who knows ig

95% of jobs are going to be available off-cycle bc of how few actually signed this cycle. As mentioned above, CP said AKKR and Marlin are going to go somewhat soon. SG has said that BX are the majority of their clients are waiting for late July (CP and DSP said similar things that majority of theirs go off-cycle). Gold Coast said only 3-4 of their clients went on-cycle (KKR, Carlyle, TPG). Havent heard dick from ratio. HSP was checking in to see who is still interested.

Prep as much as you can and do not try and guess when interviews will start. It’ll go in waves with opportunities available in between. Do not screw yourself by taking interviews you are not prepped for and do not panic that you missed on-cycle. It’s very different today than how we were told it was

Echoing the above. Seems like the ones that have clients that might go a bit ealier are CP, Opus, and HSP. Bellcast and CPI seemed like they wouldn't start anything/hold catch up calls for a month or 2.
