Oncycle Recruiting Looks Possible for Canadian Bankers?
Incoming first year analyst trying to learn more about PE recruiting. I know its already extremely competitive for junior bankers based in the US to get looks on oncycle, and my question isn't necessarily for MF oncycle recruiting but was wondering how possible it is to get oncycle looks if based in Canada.
I know the main 3 funds (Onex/Altas/Brookfield) do participate in oncycle recruiting, but I'm assuming its extremely unlikely to jump to any US based funds whether it be MM/UMM/MF., etc.
Was just curious if this is even a possibility, of if not, would it make more sense to try and lateral, etc. (Or can you just try your best to chat with HHs, and get some looks).
Would appreciate any advice/color anyone has.
Depends on your bank. Are you at a global platform or a big 6?
Seen plenty of global folks go to the US.
Better end of the big 6s
Bump - also in the same boat (higher end of big 6, good group, etc.) was thinking of PE recruiting but didn’t want to be limited by Toronto. Interested to see what people say, thanks!

FWIW someone made it to HIG from BMO. But almost never see it.
