Outsourced modelling consultant for portco - suggestions

Hi,

Has anyone used consultants for assistance with a PortCo operationg model before? I recall back in IB a few years back a small-cap client had a PwC modelling team come and do a short project where they rebuilt a clunky / bloated excel and set it up to pull relevant inputs with PowerBI and had some useful Macros. I want to get quotes for a short-terme engagement here and am curious if anyone has done something similar and found it helpful.

For the avoidance of doubt I can / have built simplified versions that are suitable for fund purposes, what I'm after is a granular operating model that the finance and FP&A teams can use day-in-day out to tweak hundreds of assumptions to provide useful and regular forecast updates. Actuals would be dropped in each month from reporting tools, which is something I think can be automated with VBA code I have no interest in learning.

The background is that one of my portco's has an extremely complex model that's gotten progressively more bloated as it's been handed down over the years and it's gotten unwieldly. I want it rebuilt so it's not 100mb and so it has more user-friendly controls.

Welcome any thoughts / recommendations / witty "why don't you do it yourself" comments
