Paine Schwartz

Any insight on Paine Schwartz’s group, culture, work & pay? There seems to have been a lot of mid-level / senior turnover in last couple years with mostly new hires so curious to know why and what associate experience is like

The partners are extremely erratic (even for PE/IB standards) and the firm is very political / bureaucratic - unexpectedly firing strong mid and junior-level professionals for no good reason and deflecting responsibility when things go wrong. They also cycle through MDs to protect economics and regularly fall short on promotion promises, which you can see across LinkedIn

I’d be very cautious. From what I understand, fund performance has not been great, and carry hasn’t materialized for anyone in 10 to 15 years
