PE Firm weird internship
Got a call from a PE firm for a mini-interview telling me their internship was a 6 month unpaid internship. I am ok with a unpaid internship but how do they expect students to do an internship for six months on an 8-5 schedule? Thoughts on why they do this?
They expect 8-5 during the week with no classes
To me that's just simply taking advantage of someone. Like really? 8-5 daily for 6 months. Does this place even have a history of hiring interns? I'd be wary.
I agree those terms pretty much suck and bring the firm's credibility into question. They should at least give you a stipend- surely you won't be stapling memo's and making copies for 50+ hours a week? I'd keep looking.
How legit is the PE firm? I'm guessing not very, but you never know these days...
Total scam. See "http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/blackmore-partners-chicago"
Not surprised... don't do it kid. It isn't a PE firm.
