Has anyone seen a PE fund successfully build a BI reporting interface that directly connects to portfolio company ERP systems for real time reporting, dashboarding, etc. As many ERPs are now internet connected, I would guess you could transfer data, spit it out in a consistent format, and then produce reports such as:
- Daily/weekly/monthly sales and gross margin trends
- Inventory/AR/AP trends
- Cash trends
You may also be able to integrate HRIS, reviews management, website, etc. as well and then track KPIs like:
- Headcount by month by company
- Online review trends
- Web traffic
Curious if the juice is worth the squeeze. 10 years ago this would be too complex to be worth it but as SAAS has improved and AI comes to the forefront, I suspect this becomes more viable.
