PE insurance platforms

Random thought but what is preventing private credit platforms like Crescent, Ares, etc. from switching to an insurance based model like Apollo-Athen/KKR-Global Atlantic.

I am genuinely curious as it appears these platforms are mainly for fixed-income opportunities.
