Of the people that I know that landed non-real estate MF PE internships out of undergrad were, for example:

- HYP, UMM PE sophomore gig

- oxbridge, EB sophomore, UMM PE freshman

- t15 ug, sophomore bb, DEI, umm freshman

These people all have unreal resumes, not saying its not impossible but incredibly difficult without some insane experiences + school

 

You don't necessarily need a crazy resume to get in. Someone who went to my university (not a t15, but a semi-target state school) got a junior SA position at a very prestigious MF PE firm + return offer with no sophomore summer analyst position, just finance clubs. However, I'm sure he had some strong connections there.
