PE middle office role

I have recently received an offer for a middle/back office role at a well respected and active PE firm in Europe (~€15bn AUM) that does infrastructure & energy deals. The job is basically maintaining the models for the companies they buy and make long term forecasts, along with regular financial analysis & data integration. It’s not about deal sourcing or making LBOs per se.

I’m not sure how to classify this but it seems like a middle to back office role. My question is – is it worth it?

From LinkedIn, it seems that there is some mobility from that department to the front office. But I didn’t ask them about it. Let me know what you think!
