Platinum Equity Updated Thoughts (2022)

Anyone have any recent knowledge in Platinum Equity (particularly on the associate experience)? $10bn last fund and currently raising a $15bn fund, yet I don't see them talked much on here at all. Thanks in advance for the help!

Guys there are at least 3 strategies that they market widely (Flagship, Small Cap and Credit) and they have 6 offices so potentially 18 teams. Maybe less as they may not have e.g. a credit guy in each office. But clearly more than just one team.

What team? Varies wildly. Not all are sweaty.

Which teams are less sweaty?

I think they are wildly successful, but don't have any insight into culture/comp.

They're very active in the market and obviously doing something right if raising a larger fund. The business model is different from other funds where they have a separate business development team to review deals before they get passed over to the execution team. Associate experience would be very execution focused since business development would do the initial screen. Your experience will also vary depending on who you work under. They hire Associates to work for a specific MD so you would not be getting staffed around like you would at a bank. It's hard to talk culture since it depends on who you are working for and there are a lot of MDs.
