Private Debt PE

What is the compensation, lifestyle, and work load of people who work at a PE firm in their private debt arm? I'd assume doing private debt at TPG or Bain etc is less prestigious and pays worse than actually closing on private equity deals. Would most ppl here even prefer a MM shop over doing private debt at a mega?

Anyone go this route and can shed some light?

Thanks

Also very interested in this topic. Would be curious to hear about the distinction between working for the credit arm of a primarily-PE firm vs a standalone direct lending fund.
