middle market PE. focuses on media/telecom, although has also dabbled in tech (bought dice.com with General Atlantic) and business services (bought West Corp with TH Lee). Founded by former Lazard bankers (including former deputy chairman/deputy CEO) in 2001 with a $1bn debut fund. currently investing a $2bn fund raised in 2005. They know their space.
In terms of the junior experience: lean shop - great experience- good hours.
They also have a distressed debt fund and a media hedge fund. The distressed debt fund was named fund of the year in 2005 by Institutional Investor.
More info can be found on their website- they have good disclosure for a PE firm.
IBDon, thanks very much for the info. I wasn't expecting anything near that detailed or helpful - where'd you get that info? do you have any more? I'll check the website.
what kind of prior experience do you think i'd need to work there? 2 yrs as an analyst?
The info is mostly from the website - it is very helpful. Read the news section.
You will need 2 years experience as an analyst to work there. They generally recruit about a year in advance along with all the other PE firms, so you will get your offer after you finish your first year to start at quadrangle after you finish your analyst stint.
