Reaching out to Head Hunters | PE

Background: I'm a 2nd year PE associate looking to lateral this summer.

I've reached out to around 10 head hunters about a month ago (call with each one) about opportunities I've looking for and so far, have gotten very few inbounds (some not even at all) from them.

Do you think it's customary to just send a quick follow up email to each one checking in on if there's any latest opportunities? Something like "...just wanted to check in to see if there's any PE / growth opportunities that are coming up and may be a good fit.."
