Recent Grad w/ MO Internship at PE FoF - Seeking Advice on Post-Grad Trajectory

Hi everyone, first time posting here. I graduated from a semi-target this year and was fortunate to land an internship in a MO role at a PE FoF. I'm grateful for this experience, but want to improve my long-term career trajectory.

I'm very interested in PE, I find the subject incredibly interesting and am striving to be in a FO/deal role someday. I understand that becoming a PE analyst will be very hard to achieve given I do not have any type of FO or IB experience and am trying to evaluate the best path forward.

My three main options I am considering are:
Continuing in MO roles and hoping to lateral into FO eventually
Doing an MBA in the near future and going through the IB/PE path (will be tough financially however)
Applying directly to FO roles at smaller offices (but I know I am at a disadvantage)

My internship ends this summer (unsure about return offer due to restructuring). I'd appreciate any advice from those who've gone through a non-traditional path.

A few questions I have in mind as well:

Is it realistic to lateral into FO from MO?
Are there better stepping-stone roles that I can be focusing on now rather than actively seeking MO roles?
Would pursuing a CFA help with FO recruiting or is that not worth focusing on right now?

On a more personal note, I entered college unsure of what I wanted to do and also dealt with some serious family challenges that set me off track. I learned about PE late but am super grateful for the opportunity I had in that MO role and am trying to do what I can to build on it.

Thank you to anyone who took the time to read/respond. Any thoughts or experiences you can share would mean a lot.
