HHs reach out to you for different roles. You don't "choose" one as its less placement and more free-for-all based on who represents what firms. Usually its an exclusive agreement for the positions being filled at the junior roles (meaning only one HH will service one firm for associate roles). There's a thread (called 2022 HH rankings, I think) that's really good breakdown of which HHs represent what firms and what working with each is like.
This is correct - they reach out to you. If you are not getting any HH inbounds it is probably because of your bank/group. Make sure you have your email visible on linkedin (check your settings)
