What you want to know, can give first-hand experience

wiwi-treff has a thread on it if you speak german. Apparently bad sweatshop as already mentioned above

Can confirm (am also former intern)

One of the biggest teams in FFM. Due to the special culture of the firm would advise you to rather pick one of the BBs

What do you mean by special culture? What are the usual tasks as an intern?

Another intern basically spent three months redacting documents in the VDR, hardly anything else. Floor can be rough sometimes as well. To be fair though, I did not have a bad time.

Honestly, kiss the right ass, stay longer, work harder than the rest and always ask if they have some work for you before you leave but at the end of the day there is nothing you can do if you have a few female interns in your class that do a decent job and want the offer…

I feel your frustration but blaming your own failures on diversity is not the way. 80% of the intern class is white and male, this also roughly corresponds to the analyst class. Yes, maybe females have it a bit easier but still there are plenty of analyst spots for talented (male) interns if you are there at the right time and play politics with the right people.

Not frustrated as I am not recruiting and never interned at RTH but I know plenty of talented guys that went there. No need to hide the fact that nowadays every bank would prefer a mediocre female junior to a good white male candidate. As you stated correctly, ~75% of the intern class are white male, now please keep in mind that they tend to hire 1-3 interns per cycle. The point of the previous comment still stands. If you now also need to be there at the right time and play politics besides doing outstanding work as an intern to get this soul crushing 100h week mid market M&A job, you might aswell just do something useful with you life…
