Semi-Target, Top EB - chances at PE?
Title says it all - currently considering on-cycle as I head into first year analyst stint but concerned about my chances. Graduated from a semi-target (UVA/Northwestern/USC), solid GPA, about to start at top EB group (EVR/MOE/PJT). Heard basically only HYPWS get PE jobs regardless of group - is this true?
Not true. Yes, you should recruit, but only if you feel that you are ready.
I've been studying hard for interviews but don't have great deal experience from my summer - if on-cycle happens within the first week is that going to play against me?
Yeah this is objectively false. Maybe at really snooty places it'll make a marginal difference but IMO once you're at a true EB like the listed banks, PE shops will really want you regardless. Good luck!
not true at all. At EVR/MOE/PJT, you are in an amazing position to get into PE if you're prepared for on-cycle. Just look at the analysts above you and you'll see
I will say that most people above even from my group seem to have been from targets. How do I standout against the HYPWS kids during interviews?
Everyone has already said this - you're fine man. Marginal difference in outcomes, many many seats are out there for you. Whoever told you that is either lying or wildly misinformed.
EDIT: Also, lmao at putting USC with UVA... 99% chance you go to USC.
usc is ranked higher lol
Aren't they comparable? USC has a much lower acceptance rate.
