Sense checking LMM Comp As1
Hey all,
Wanted to check what WSO thinks is generally reasonable for a LMM buyout fund comp.
For reference latest fund size 900m-1bn, total AUM 2-3bn. Located in NYC. For associate 1 I was thinking 260-290k with 150k base, does that sound reasonable?
Curious to hear if anyone has any comps or thoughts on this

Probably closer to 225-275 total comp. Base should be somewhere between 125-150. Have seen a lot of funds in the 115-135 range base at that fund size.
Curious is that fund size more MM or LMM? Thought LMM was around $500m
Yeah agree that “LMM” probably isn’t the most accurate term - wasn’t sure how to write “lower end of MM”
Understood. Agree with above that 225-275 all-in sounds in line. 125/125 (base / bonus) sounds more likely
Ya your numbers are kind of high but not absurdly high. I think at the end of the day , street for PE associate is 300k plus or minus ~50-60k— take 50k off if you’re super LMM and add 60 or maybe closer to 400 all in if you’re like an Apollo
