Signed with LMM PE Fund ($500M latest fund) but want to keep interviewing
Given that PE is a much smaller world than BB banking, would this move make sense? Getting pinged about stronger opps and getting the "grass is greener" mentality. I had thought my prospects were grim which is why I signed with the first offer I got, but realized that there are plenty of off cycle opportunities with really solid funds ($2bn+ latest fund). Have a few interviews lined up already and tempted to "up-tier" to a bigger fund if I land one.
Has anyone ever done this and what were the repercussions? Given the unpredictability of PE recruiting, I can't be the only one thinking of doing this..
I would be extremely careful. You will be surprised those MDs are all buddies somehow...Hopefully these funds you are interviewing are not in the same sector. For example, in the life sciences/tech space, everyone knows everyone.
